according to CTBIOS is

Computer ID : FC, Type : AT
BIOS Date : 01/31/00
Award BIOS found : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Award ID-String : 01/31/2000-i810-W83627HF-

I dont know what my motherboard is or anything more.

BIOS upgrades deal with hardware issues.. bear in mind that not all people
run Windows on their computers.. re. an upgrade for your motherboard, unless
the correct BIOS upgrade is used, your motherboard could become totally
unusable.. forget about BIOS upgrades, and just load XP.. however, you will
need to ensure that your pc hardware is compatible with XP.. before loading
XP, run the cd within Win ME and select the option to check for system
compatability.. get whatever drivers you need BEFORE you install XP and save
them to a cd.. do the same with any other important info.. I think that a
clean install is probably the best way to go, but the choice has to be
yours.. BTW, Win XP is better run in 512mb RAM..
