bios upgrade

I want to upgrade my BIOS to recognize my large hard drive...it only
sees it as 136 and it is 160 gig...I ran a program to tell me my BIOS
info and here is the info below....I have been doing Google searches
for the upgrade and found one file on driverguide.com to update the
BIOS, but not sure if it is the right one and kinda scared to use
it...

The best thing to do is go to the website of your motherboard's manufacturer
and see if they have the proper bios upgrade.
If so, though it should work...there is always a risk.
I would not use a bios upgrade from anywhere else!

If you want to play it safe...you may want to just get a PCI controller.
Anything in current production should easily handle a 160gig drive
and shoould not cost too mcuh.

As Philo said, get the BIOS from the maker of your mobo.
But have you looked at the options in your current BIOS, it
should support LBA, etc....

I know I posted about my hard drive size, but this is the 1st time
posting the BIOS info I got this morning when I ran a BIOS checking
program....I heard that you have to purchase the BIOS upgrade from the
manufacturer...

No...it should be a free download

they are free to download. Be sure to read the instructions
on the maker's website.

thanks......once you send them the info, they'll either call you or
email you about it....haven't filled the form out...was hoping there
was just a file on the site to download ...
