Windows xp, battery indicator

Don't have a battery indicator under power options on my
versions of xp home edition, have two lap tops with xp
one has it and one doesn't, what is problem. Would like
to see battery status on bottom of screen

Check the Power Options control panel applet in your laptop.
There is an option to always put the icon in the task bar,make sure it
is at 'on' position.
