I have a new Dell with Win XP Pro. When I create a
folder it is created as read-only. Even after I change
the attributes on the folder, the read-only remains grey.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Do not be fooled by the checkbox in the properties
of folders. This box is only a switch to set or unset
the read-only attribute of contain files. It is not the
read-only attribute of the folder, which is accessible
via the attrib command at a cmd prompt.
