Windows XP and Windows 95

Can someone please tell me how to go from the Windows Screen that originally
comes up when you boot your computer up to the Dos Prompt.

Windows 95 is a Network system

Windows XP is my home computer.

I am looking for the short cut. (example: like to underline something you
do Cntl U.)

There is no true DOS in XP. XP has a command interpreter instead. You should specify what you're needing to do in "dos".

You can try selecting Start, then RUN, then type in

CMD <Enter-key>

You type in EXIT (or press the X button at top) when finished.
