Windows XP and Vista

Have wireless network setup with a Vista computer. Can not connect to the
network using a XP computer. Can see the network in my list of networks and
when I try to sign on using the password it doesn't work. I was told I need
an update on the XP computer. Is this true? If so what update?

it doesn't work.

"Does not work" means WHAT? Absolutely nothing happens? No error
messages, no popups, just absolutely nothing? If nothing happened to
alert you to a problem or error then how do you know that "it" did not
work?
