Windows XP and new installing

Hi!

How can I format my C-Partition and intalls again WINDOWS XP which I have on
CD?

I Tried to install it, but it leaves all settings and users state where they
where before intalling.

I Want to FORMAT C: and start it on clean table! Can anybody help?

All seemed fine, then I tried to start "Help and support" function to load
all updates from Microsoft.

When I selected Start-button then "Help and Support"
the message was Error : Help and Support" service not
started, what that means???

When I went directly to Microsot Updates pages and
try to load and install !8,4Mb updates files, it took about 30 minutes to
load and install all kinds of new versions.

Unfortunately at the end Windows list about 25 files on screen and said
nothing was installed??

Must I took these files in small spieces from Microsoft or how??

I am tired, can anybody help???
