Windows XP and Activation after "casual copy"

So, now that I have learned the casual copying is a no no
and being enforced, what do I do now that I've installed
it not knowing. Can I call in and purchase a license and
product key so I can activate???? What do I do now???

Please help. 28 days left.

Although if you don't own the original copy (i.e. it belongs to somebody
else), you need to go buy one at full price.

Yes, you could call the activation phone number with credit card
in hard, but it would probably be less expensive to go out and buy
another copy at a discount retailer, and then perform a repair
installation, entering the new Product Key.
