interrupted. I can not get info from Gateway or Microsoft as to if it got
activated ok. The activation window is no longer in the system tool folder.
I just don't want it to stop in 30 days. Can anyone help

What if you haven't activated yet and there is no activate windows in system
tools?
I don't want my system locking up in 30 days. I also went to run and put in
the oop.whatever it is and the activation screen came up, but it said it was
already activated. I never activated it, so what gives?

Go to Start, select run and type "oobe/msoobe /a" without the quotes, press
ENTER and follow the prompts.

I'm assuming you have a retail version of XP. If this is an OEM version, it
may need to be activated. Have you ever activated and are you being
prompted for activation? If not, you likely don't need to activate as such
systems are often activated at the factory and unless there's been some
change in hardware, activation may not be required.

Thank You. I hope this is correct. Funny Gateway or Microsoft neither one
were helpful. They both acted like I had done something terrible, but it is
working fine. Thank You for the re-assurance. Jerry

I have been having a similar problem. I cannot access any XP office
professional areas. It states that they are locked until the license is
renewed. I have followed tha activation wizard but it keeps telling me that
the original XP disc is older than the version I have on my computer. It also
says that the pathway to XP cannot be found, locate PRORET.MSI. I think I am
running retail version. Any help would be much appreciated.
