How do I tell when Windows XP Pro was last activated. I'm looking for
a date, so I known when the 120 days are up. so I can upgrade my
computer and them reactivate it.

start -> Run -> cmd
then type "systeminfo" without the ".
Scroll up, and you'll see the original installation date. Since you have to
activate within 30 days of installation, add 150 days from this date.

Hi,

You can reactivate as often as you wish on the same system with a retail
disk. At worst, you will need to phone in activation if the automatic
activation scheme fails. There is no need to wait 120 days.

There's no need to wait 120 days. You can do what you want now.
Depending on how much and what hardware you change, it may
reactivate over the internet just as it did before. Worst case,
if online activation fails, you'll be prompted to make a voice
call to an 800 number, where you will explain the circumstances
and be believed. Just follow the instructions; they will activate
you over the phone. It's quick and easy--usually under five
minutes.
