Windows Xp Activation

Hi
i am having trouble activating my copy of windows, i
have brought Windows Xp Upgrade and having problems with
virus and so on i have re-installed windows many times
now it wont let me activate my copy any ideas guys?

When Product Activation fails, select the option to "activate by telephone".
This will put you in touch with a Microsoft representative who will issue
a new product activation code (free-of-charge).

Call the phone number that the activation screen gives you, tell ms what you
did, they will activate you.
Start, run, type in: c:\windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a, hit enter.

Just call and tell them, tell them what happened, they
always give u a new key if your reason is good even if it
is made up. (hint hint)

I want to know if Microsoft will be distributing info on how to avoid XP Pro activation requirements after they abandon XP and no longer support it (like they did with Win95; yes, I still have computers running that OS). I can't afford to buy new computers every 5-10 years so in the future, when XP is abandoned by MS, how do I get around the forced activation when I upgrade my (by then) ancient P4's hard drive and install my XP Pro OS? I can't use an OS that stops working after 30 days from installation. Thanks very much

Greetings --

When they introduce WPA, Microsoft also announced that, when
products requiring activation reached EOL (end-of-life), they'd
release a patch to remove the requirement.

They haven't said just how, but have indicated at a high level that if
the maintenance of the activation centers becomes not commercially worth
while they will provide some alternative to allow legitimate users to
continue to use the system, in perpetuity. The timing for that would
not necessarily coincide with ceasing support
