Bob Barnes

We 've identified an issue on new XP Professional Installations. Access
databases running under such Installation do NOT function properly.

2 recent Installations get the screen error below when I try to diagnose
what's wrong in Access.

'===
Microsoft C++ Debug Library

Debug Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE

abnormal program termination

(Press Retry to debug the application)

Abort - Retry - Ignore Buttons
'===

TIA - Bob

Do you mean Windows XP w/ Access 2003 MUST have SP 3 w/ hotfix?

I've been running XP Pro SP2 with Access (Office) SP3 for some time;
there have been reported issues with Access SP3 so the hotfix is
necessary.

I know nothing about XP SP3 beyond the article that Chris linked to.

Clif - We have XP SP 2 w/ both Access 2003 - Office SP 2/ SP 3 on 2 PCs. It
doesn't work properly. We'll try the XP SP 3.

Thank you - Bob

I don't have the 2003 SP3 Hotfix link handy ... a search of this (or the
..forms) newsgroup for SP3 Hotfix will pull up the hotfix link for you.
