I have downloaded the evaluation copy on XP 64-bit.
I have a Seagate SATA HDD. When I boot from CD I need to
install third party drivers for the HDD. I have the
correct drivers which work for XP 32-bit but not for 64-
bit. It says the the drivers are corrupt. HELP! Does
anyone have any ideas???

Hi,

The drivers from Seagate must support 64 bit, they are who you should be
talking to. If they cannot or will not provide them, then there is little
you can do at this time.

hi
well dont worry your drivers are not corrupt. first of all does your system have a 64 -bit proccesor(like that of amd athlton-64 and intel itanium 64 bit processors.). 2nd 64 bit processor need compatable hardware and drivers. so check that your drivers are 64 bit supporting or not . if not then you have to update them . i suggest that you wait till going for 64 bit as it requires enormous updates and in general you wont find a 64-bit supporting drivers. plus , it is only useful for high end technical users and engineers who have to do large floating point calculations. for home users the 32-bit processors are the best.

Also which? The 64 bit orders in the two are different. There has been
a 64bit XP for Intel Itanium around for some time; the AMD Opteron one
is still in Beta. There *may* be an evaluation version of it but I have
not heard of it yet

Many drivers for the XP 64-bit edition are available at

Good luck!
