Windows won't boot without the XP CD in the drive

Everytime I boot up my computer, it asks me for a boot disk. What it wants,
I've learned, is the Windows XP CD. If the CD is in the drive, it will say
'booting from disk', but then Windows will start up normally. If the CD is
not in the drive, then it will not boot. It just sits there, waiting for a
boot disk. I can't figure out how to bypass this or stop my computer from
doing this. Any suggestions?
