Every time I restart mi lap the start menu resets as it was the first time I
opened windows, the same programs are in the start menu most used shortcuts.

I dont know how to configure the start menu to stop this for hapening. i
have moved almost every option in the start menu optios window and nothing
changes.

It's not a problem but as long i know that shouldn't happen in windows

After you have been using your laptop for x amount of time do your start
programs appear on the list - and then after a restart they are back to
normal?

What happens when you change the list to show more programs or right-click
on the programs that are on there and select 'Remove from this list'?

See if altering the "StartMenuInit" registry value helps.

Frequently Used Programs list is reset to defaults during every logon in Windows Vista:

Try the following:

Rightclick on the taskbar. Click properties. Select tab startmenu. You see 2
entries (list of ... programs). Enable this.
Better now?
