Windows Vista Service Pack 1

We have two networked PCs, purchased at the same time, both running Vista
Business. One of them received the Service Pack 1 update about six weeks
ago, and the other has not received the update.

What's happening? I'd like to update the second PC as soon as possible.

Vista SP1 is not available through Windows Update:

Many thanks for the link. I have looked at it and *none* of the seven
reasons applies to my system. There are no updates pending, not even
optional ones, but when I check for updates I get the message that my
computer is up to date.
But I still don't have SP 1, and it's not being offered.

You can give the stand-alone installer a try instead (435MB):

Make sure you have the necessary prerequisites installed first, look for
KB937287 and KB938371 in your Windows Update log. They can both be
downloaded directly from MS Download Center:
