Windows Vista OEM

I bought a Vista Ultimate OEM system builder pack (not upgrade) for my
home/family computer. I have a corrupt XP and my Internet Explorer will not
work. (I already tried updating) The package keeps talking about OPK and
when I go to the site it asks about my organization.(I don't have one)
Did I buy the wrong thing? I need help!!!

If I did buy the right package how do I go along installing it? Do I erase
everything then install?

I built a new computer with the OEM Ultimate 32 bit. It was by definition a
'clean' install. I have had Zero problems with Vista. The OEM version of
Ultimate is very cost effective with no adverse disadvantageous. I would go
this route again.

Based upon various comments on this forum, since a reformat/clean install is
an option, do it. It seems that XP leaves residuals that causes problems
with Vista. Further, unless there is a compelling reason to use the 64 bit,
I would suggest using the 32 bit. There seems to be fewer drivers available
for the 64 bit.
