Yes, I do. You don't.
Snip unfounded insults.

I bet he got the point (sharp?)!
Well maybe...he's rather self consumed.

work better?

Have you tested this theory? How long have you had Vista running without
allowing it to "phone home"?
Maybe something else is going on that the OP didn't mention, like a new
mouse with software that changed drivers, or adding a digital camera or
printer, or any other non-internet-related system change that shouldn't
have, but still might have, triggered the reactivation? Just because it
is not connected to the Internet, and not receiving 'updates', doesn't
mean there haven't been minor changes.
Yes, it's inconvenient, and buggy, and *not perfect*, but it's part of
Vista. Those of us who *want* to use Vista are learning how to use it
correctly, but you sound like you're trying to tell people that they
wasted their money and need to give up.
That makes you a quitter! So, quit telling people to throw in the towel
and let the rest of us get the job done.

He has xp home.
Hummm...I "lurk" in the XP ng...where I see you've had some problems
reloading xp home...or was that typo?
So you've not been saying the same thing for months, advocating ubuntu
linux over Vista? It that not true?
It appears either you're suffering from a short term memory loss or else
your a delusional person or else you're the one who is lying?
Care to come clean or should we just move on?

Just because vista is a ripoff (esp. in his neck of the woods), does not
mean he can or can't afford it.

You can't afford Vista so stop
pretending you can, ok.

I really don't believe this will solve my problem. Calling by phone I will
have to send the same numbers to Microsoft (as the hardware has not changed,
I have checked these numbers are the same, since I have them written in a
paper from my first activation), so I will receive the same numbers I have.
And surely at the next reboot, the same problem... More or less, without the
call, this is what I'm doing now...
Searching in the Microsoft Knowledge Base I've found a patch to be used in
multi-license and OEM installations ( KB931573 -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/931573 ) However, my license is
from a "Retail Windows Vista"...
Alias said:Upgrading from Vista to Ubuntu is *not* "throwing in the towel"; it's an
improvement. Of course, if you enjoy being constantly told that you're a
low life pirate, Vista is the OS for you. If you enjoy having to upgrade
all your programs individually, Vista is for you. And, last, but not
least, if you enjoy having anti virus, software firewalls and anti
malware using up your resources, Vista is for you.

People like you are exactly the reason why people won't up(down)grade to
linux.
I've used unbuntu... recently (like a month ago). By the way, did they
get
that silly issue regarding the broken mouse driver resolved? It's true,
it
couldn't even figure out how to use a simple mouse. Your advanced, and
superior solution to windows couldn't even use a basic system component.
I managed to hack a solution by modifying some boot parameters in the
bootloader. I'll take my 'resource eating malware detection' any day over
that thanks.
Idiot.
