Windows Vista Login error

I'm an administrator on my Windows Home Premium Vista machine and I get this
error when logging in: Windows could not connect to the system event
notification service service. I can still log in, but my wife, who was a
regular user could not log in at all. Things were working fine before. I
think the only thing I did of any siginificance between the time it was
working and the time this problem came up was to share the Public file on my
home network.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.

is easily understandable for the home user, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also having exact same issue. Just started happening and I'm not sure

I actually just restarted my computer and it seemed to solve the issue. Oh
well!
