WINDOWS VISTA FAILS TO INSTALL

Despit the upgrade advisor saying all is compatible, the vista intallation
fails at the "completing installation" stage. No reason is given and the
machine is successfully returned to Windows XP.

Is there a log of some kind to advise on the nature of the installation
problem ?

Please check in the $windows.bt$\Sources\Panther folder or in the
$windir$\Panther folder on your HD. If you have a folder named Panther in
either location and you can download the Beta Client please bug it and
upload the entire contents of the Panther folder to MS.

vista can be very picky about what devices are plugged in/enabled during install.
disable all not needed devices in bios, serial/paralled, usb, hard drives, etc....
unplug any not needed devices during install, printer, UPS, etc....
try again.
