Windows Vista error: 0x8DDD0002

When trying to "Get updates for more products" in Windows Update, the
following error message (0x8DDD0002) keeps appearing and I am therefore
unable to search for these additional updates.

"To install updates from this website you must be logged on as an
administrator or a member of the Administrators group on your computer. If
you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an administrator by going to User
Accounts in Control Panel. Note: If your computer is connected to a
network, network policy settings might also prevent you from using this
website. Contact your system administrator for help with updates"

What is the official solution to this problem? The Microsoft site has
solutions for Windows 2000 and Windows XP against this error number, but it
does not give a solution for this error in Windows VISTA.

The other part of Windows Update works fine, it is just the "Get updates for
more products" part that doesn't work.

Are you logged on as an admin? Try launching IE from an elevated command
prompt and see if you can access the updates that way (if UAC is enabled).
