Windows Vista DVD maker

Hello, I have read just about every post on this similar subject and have
done just about everything that was suggested by people that said it worked.
None of which has worked for me however. My problem is I use my camcorder on
movie maker. Works fine. I then try and use dvd maker to put it on dvd and
the site crashes after I put the files and hit next. I tried switching from
avi to wm file and it worked but would only play on my computer and not any
of my dvd's. Please help as I am so frusterated.

The bucket id is 348989482 if that helps at all. Please Please help.

That fault bucket should have a response. What response did it give you?
It tells me that this problem was caused by Nero.

I dont even have nero. I mean I have something that says nero but when i clik
on it nothing happens. I have tried to delete it but it wont let me. I think
it was called nero demo. I dont remember ever downloading this but now I cant
delete it. Is this really my problem? How can i not delete something?

Uninstalling is usually better than deleting. Is there an entry for it in
the "Programs" Control Panel? You could use that to uninstall it.

I have went to the control panel to uninstall it but when i do it just
freezes and never finishes the unistall. I can not get rid of it.

Ah, perfect, that indicates that you should probably go to Nero support who
should be able to work you through this.

If that fails, what files beginning with "ne" are on your system? Or of
form "ne*.ax"? They're probably either under c:\program files\common
files\ahead or under c:\program files\nero .

Nero's people could not or just dont want to help me. All they care about it
installing the software. Dont care about uninstall. I found a nero folder in
my program files but once again when i try to delete it it says i need
permission to do this? Its my computer, who elses permission do i need. This
is beyond frusterating. If i try to uninstall it I cant. If i try and delete
it I cant.

Google "vista takeown"
Even if you are the administrator, you don't necessarily own all files or
have permission to change them.

Either follow's Michael's kind advice or just identify the *files* for me.

If you manually delete the files, you will leave the registry in a confusing
state to other applications who may try to access those mysteriously
vanished (destroyed) filters. =)

Finally!!! I finally was able to delete or get rid of Nero altogether. Took a
while but i used the Nero clean tool about eight times. So now I can burn it
finish burning it, play it on my pc but not on any dvd's that I own. Is this
becaue I am using DVD-r type dvd's? THanks for all your help Zachd and
michael. Please one more help.

Ok so the same dvd i burned that did not play in my dvd player played in my
xbox 360. So I think that tells me that I am just using the wrong dvd's. I
think I should try DVD+RW. Am I right?

The specs for your DVD player should indicate that types of DVD it supports
playback from. That is probably the quickest way to get to the right
answer. =)

Ok i just looked at the specs. It says its formatted to play all four of the
different types of DVD's plus MP3. I have backed up dvd's before using
another tool and dvd-r and have no problems. I dont want to waste money on
dvd+rw if that is not the problem............hmmmm what to do.

P

Ok so I checked my dvd and my pc and they both say that they support any type
of DVD. (RW+RW- etc.) However I still cannot get my videos to play on my dvd.
Onlly in my xbox 360. Any reason why?

I don't know anything about your DVD player - their people may know more
about what conditions they don't support. You could surreptitiously check
it against a DVD player at a local electronics store. =\
