Hello,

I 've upgraded my computer from windows business to vista ultimate
using a dvdrom downloaded on technet (and using upgrade mode, not full
reinstall). But since that, sleeping mode don't works anymore, in fact
when i try to resume my computer, it is frozen. So i need to do a hard
reset. Thats works on business but not the ultimate, it's strange.

Any suggestion ?

My configuration /
Vista franch x86
motherboard : Asus p5ld2-vm se
2 Gb DDR 2 PC5300
2 250 gb Seagate sata II hard drive
7900 GTX
intel core 2 duo e6400

Thanks in advance.

I successfully installed Vista and rebooted several times. Then
during installation of software (Live Messenger and its other add-on)
Windows said it had a serious error and was going to reboot in 1
minute. So it shut down and now when rebooting the computer seems to
freeze right at the first point of the boot. It displays the Bios
name, processor, but thats it. I cannot seem to press a key to get
into the BIOS or anything. Is this the same as you? How do you do a
"hard reset"???

Me too. Same issue.

I adjusted the "Sleep" configuration to "Never". But I wish I knew what was
causing this issue. Since then, I did download and install a number of new
Vista drivers from the hp website for my Vista machine (a1528x). I haven't
tested sleep since I did that. OTOH, I don't like sleep anyway. I'm trying
to figure out a way to prevent the sleep option when you choose to
"shutdown" the machine.
