Yes do a google search for Windows Mobile 6 (codename CROSSBOW).
Its released soon, next few months I think.
However I doubt many mobiel companies will be offering free upgrade roms,
expect to have to buy a new device unless the manufacturer is really kind

It's actually been released already - the SDK for WM6 is already
available for download.

From what people have said, it's little different from WM5 with regard
to hardware requirements. It's more of a makeover with some new
functionality, rather than a complete overall like WM2003 to WM5 was.
If your device has WM5, then it's likely it'll run WM6 - should your OEM
decide to release an update - which as you said - is unlikely given most
will prefer to sell you a new device!

I don't even have WM5 lol. I have wm2003. Its a new device aswell, well
new to me, I reckon old stock.

oh yeah, I just saw the release notes about WM6 and I am excited!! I have an
8125, and would love a nice upgrade. Any idea where the down load is or
where more info about its release?

Windows Mobile is an OEM only product. This means that only equipment
manufacturers can get hold of it. They then modify/tailor/customise it
for their specific devices. Ultimately it's up to the manufacturer of
your device whether they'll be releasing an update from WM5 to WM6 for
your device. It's entirely likely they won't, rather just put it on
their new devices.
