This message all started when I upgraded Spy Sweeper from version 4.5.9 to
5.0 and when having the SS program active as well as Adaware. In fact in
running Adaware i got subject message.

After consulting with SS, the gist is I now have SS version 4.5.10 and
everything seems to be running good. I'd like to go to their version 5.0 and
I will be so informing them. In short I can stop 5.0 from running while I do
Adaware but I really don't consider that a solution since I want the full
5.0 version to be running all the time. It appears that what I have running
is borderline and when I run Adaware it pushes me over (?) and causes this
virtual memory message.

The QUESTION. I'm a novice and operating system came from Dell and I try to
update Windows every update (SP2 etc). Is there some way I can update the
Windows Virtual Memory so I don't get this message as well as not fouling up
my pc?

Advice needed and certainly appreciated.

The problem with Spy Sweeper 5.0.5 and Ad-Aware has been brought to the
attention of both companies. You only have to turn Spy Sweeper 5.0.5 off
when you run Ad-Aware to do a scan - just turn it back on when the scan is
done; there is no problem otherwise.

You don't update Virtual Memory - you buy more RAM for your system or you
increase the size of Virtual Memory (which is really only a swap file on a
hard drive) by right-clicking My Computer, selecting Properties > Advanced >
Performance box > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memeory box: What is the
amount after 'Toatal paging file for all drives:'? It can be increased when
the Change button is 'pushed'.

This message means that your swap file is too small. Let the system manage
the size of the swap file.
As the message started appearing when you updated the two produces, it would
seem that one or the other needs more swap file space.
By the way, be certain that your disk has sufficient room for a bigger swap
file.

Hi Buddy,

To resolve the issue you are facing, I would suggest you to follow these
steps:

1. Right Click My Computer Icon

2. Click Properties

3. Click Advanced Tab

4. Click Performance Options and click settings

5. In performance options window, Click Advanced tab.

6. In virtual memory option, click Change button.

7. Set it to "System managed size" and click apply and OK.

It will ask you to restart the system, Restart it.
