Windows very slow when double click on My Computer

Dear All:
Did anyone experience this problem in Windows 2000 Pro,
that when I double click My Computer, it takes one minute
to open. But after that Drive C,D open in due time. Also
internet explorer takes lots of time to open. MS Word
opens normally. I ran Ad-Aware and removed some 300 diles
tracking program.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem. my computer takes 2 minutes to open. The same goes for inter explorer, controle panel and other windows shortcuts I want to open. There is no problem with opening office applications. When the "my computer" screen is already open and I try to open controle panel from the drop down menu there, than there is no problem...
Now I installed netscape to browse and this also doesn't give any problem

I my system logbook from windows every time when I want to start for example controle panel, I get the message: the server hasn't been registered at DCOM within the required time

I run an up to date mcafee antivirus, zonealarm pro and pestpetrol for security

Can anybody help me
