Windows updates icon keeps appearing

The windows update icon keeps appearing on my windows toolbar telling me
there are updates. I have it configured to look for updates one time a week
but it seems to ignore that. The prompt will not go away, this has been
going on for about a week. Also, when I do take down the updates it's
creating a text file on my C drive listing the code it's using I think,
here's an example of part of it.

Verbose logging started: 1/30/2007 16:28:06 Build type: SHIP UNICODE
3.01.4000.2435 Calling process: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe ===
MSI (c) (9C:B8) [16:28:06:953]: Resetting cached policy values

Anybody have a solution for this?

I have the automataic updates set but it seems to be ignoring that and the
update icon always appears now. Looks like it's asking for the same update
over and over.
