Windows Updates and two hard drives

Hello,

I have two hard drives, internal (C which has 40
GB and external (F which has 120 GB and when I download
the Windows Updates, it would download to the F: and
installs to the C:. Why?

I tried setting the external hard drive as a primary
partition as well as logical partition, but this did not
work.

I would like to download and install directly to C:
without having to disable F:. (It is a pain to disable
the drive and to restart the computer in order to
download Windows Updates).

Any ideas? Anybody else with two hard drives?

Hi Brian,

It's the default behavior of the WindowsUpdate controls. They will download
the updates to wherever they find the most room on the system. I don't know
of anyway to specify a download location, as the controls are not
configurable. This behavior is by design.
