windows update

On starting windows update, it searches my system ok and
detects updates. Upon adding these updates and agreeing
to the legal agreement, a screen appears that the update
is downloading. At this point the screen freezes and no
further movement is apparent. Any ideas? Or is it me just
being a thicko?

Updates uses temp space for downloads, could be your cache is full, in IE, tools,
Internet Options, delete files.
