Windows Update

Hi, when I select Windows Update from START - Help and Support - Windows
Update the usual checking for updates screen does not appear. Instead the
word "Undefined". There these is a blast of internet activity and the message
changes to "Cannot display the page
The page you are trying to view cannot be displayed because the server it
resides on does not respond. Please try again later."

Oddly I can launch Update from Control Panel.

Any ideas waht is going on?

Windows XP SP2.

I have the same problem, all I get in Windows/help/update is "undefined". Has
anyone found an answer to this malady yet??
