windows update

i keep getting this message from windows, the following updates were not
installed.....Via Technologies Inc Networking-Via RhineII Fast Ethernet
Adapter
i've tried several times but it won't update it, but yet windows keeps
popping up for me to do it, why won't it install, am i missing something? any
help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

it's best to not install hardware driver updates from Microsoft, instead get
them from the original manufactors web site.
I suggest you mark this update as do not show me this update again, and it
will stop attempting to download it.

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service:

Start > Run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > Click on Stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2. Delete the contents of the Download folder:

Start > Run > (type in) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the Download folder and delete its contents
Close the window.

3. Go to Windows Update website | Select CUSTOM and allow the scan to
complete | Uncheck/deselect the Via Technologies Inc Networking-Via RhineII
Fast Ethernet Adapter update and hide it ("Don't show me this update
again").

4. Start the Automatic Updates service:

Start > Run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > Click on Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)
