I run XP SP2 and IE 7. I ran M/S Update and it offered me an optional
hardware update - Network Adapter Realtek RTL8139 Family Fast Ethernet NIC
dated June 2007. I installed it but found that I lost the network connection
when awakening the PC from standby (from cold OK !). So I rolled back to
previous driver - fine. However, M/S Update tells me that the update is
still on my PC but it is classed as uninstalled. I would like to delete it
as there is no point keeping it given that it doesn't work. Unfortunately,
having looked all over, I can't find its location (unusually it doesn't have
a KB number either). Can anyone help please.

Realtek RTL8139 from Windows Update might be listed in Add and Remove
Programs which is in the Control Panel

Have played with the settings of the updated driver and it's now working.
