Hi, Nerissa,

What exactly are the symptoms of the problem you're having? Any error
messages?

No....it begins the download but then after a couple of minutes it just says
the downloads failed. thats all it gives me.

There should also be a cryptic error code -- If not, check the eventlog
and see if it has the details.

There should be an error number that looks something like 0x876543210 (or
some other digits, but the first two characters will be 0x"), although on
Vista it may show up only in Event Viewers's Applications or Administrator's
logs (I'm not sure because I haven't seen any Windows Update errors on Vista
yet). That error number will be the key to starting to fix your problem
(except that asking your question here was a good start, too.)

Thank you so much for you help David.
