windows update

I have Windows XP Home and am having trouble opening up
Windows Update. Its takes forever when it does and most
time won't. I installed the updates which took forever
and still did not say installation complete. I cannot
find out because windows won't open. Does it have
somthing to do with my error msg re WJView Error unable
to locate system class:java/lang/object? Help!!
 
I am having the same problem with a batch of dell pc's.
Have you had any useful responses? I'd love to hear them.
 
Just found that SP1a does the trick! Tho you might have
to find another way to download it (if windows update
ain't doing it) gd luck
