Windows Update

I have a stupid question...

When I run the windows update on XP and 2000 and it scans for needed
updates, do these updates include the patches such as MS03-040, etc. or do I
have to install them separately?

Thanks in advance...

Usually, yes. Though they may come out as seperate downloads a bit
before they make it to WindowsUpdate.

There's been cases where I've patched machine A from WindowsUpdate and
put a current fix on that wasn't there and then patched machine B
using WindowsUpdate and the patch *was* included! This may have been
because of slight differences in the machines, but maybe they added
the patch while I was working! I'd like to think so....

Cheers,

Cliff
