Windows Update Scan not running

After going to the Windows Upate site and clicking 'Scan for Updates', the next screen shows 'Windows Update is looking for available updates... 0% complete' and the Explorer status shows 'Done'. The Explorer is not froze nor the PC locked up - it just stops. Any ideas
 
Yup!
Check your time and date settings, maybe your cmos battery died.
