Windows Update Query

Hi,
I have not got SP2 my Choice. Last month I downloaded all the
latest available Updates to Windows XP Home SP1.
I check W.U. Today and discover I need 26 critical updates. So in
one month 26 updates have been released. Is this correct ??
Some of the updates look familiar to updates I have already
downloaded over the last year.

View your installation history on the WU site - listed under "other options". Did all
the updates install successfully?
Are the updates repeats of what you have already installed?
