Windows Update not working?!?

I was just on it this morning checking for updates.... and now it's not
working.

From Internet Explorer, I click on Tools and select Windows Update (Clicking
on the Windows Update start menu entry will do the same).... and it takes me
to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and then redirects me to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com which then redirects me to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/thanks.asp

It is a message saying:

Thank you for your interest in Windows Update

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the
most out of your computer.

The latest version of Windows Update is available on computers that are
running Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium
Edition, Windows 2000 (except Windows 2000 Datacenter Server), Windows XP,
and the Windows Server 2003 family.





HELP??? Why can I not get to that page?

Ok, this is odd but I solved my problem. I still would like to know why I
was being taken to that site when it was working just fine for me this
morning.

I released and renewed my IP address and it now connects to the appropriate
page.

I released and renewed the DNS and flushed the DNS cache
and NO FRIGGIN LUCK...........
