windows update-no drivers

Have just done a clean reinstall of XP and have noticed
when i go to windows update and check for updates in the
list that come up i have critical updates and windows xp
but the drivers updates is now greyed out,any suggestions
why it is doing this?.

Rich, did you download and install drivers from WinUpdate site prior to
doing a clean install? If yes go here
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm Select W and scroll down
to WinUpdates.

Why would you even want to download drivers from WU anyway?

99% of the time they are older than the ones on the manufacturer's
websites.
