When trying to solve another problem, an MVP that was
helping me wanted an attachment of the windows update log
that was showing on Notepad. I saved it to my desktop and
then sent it as an attachment.
Now, when I go to: Start>Run and type in "windows
update.log" all I get now is a blank Notepad window.
I have done several updates from the windows update site
but now there is no log file of what I have been updating.
Could someone please tell me how to get that update log
file to show again.
Thank you in advance.

I can't be sure but it sounds like you in fact transfered
the log to your desktop. Simply drag and drop it back to
it's original folder. Just for your information you should
never save files or applications to the desktop. This
should be kept for shortcuts only. Any apps or files saved
to desktop are then opened to the desktop at every boot
and cause excessive boot times and slowdowns. Keep
smiling.

Could you please tell me where is, or how to find the
original folder from which the update log file was
loacated. Thank you.
