Hi,

I would like an MPV advice about this. I have an english windows version,
but one day I went on windows update website, and I went on the french
version by mistake (my regional settings are setup on french), and I
downloaded and installed critical updates from the french windows update
website.

Could this lead to some problems with windows? Or do the windows update
language has no influence on the files that are downloaded ?

Thanks

I think you will find that if an update only works with a particular
'regionalised' version of windows, then it will refuse to install on one
that does not work with it. The general move is to getting
regionalisations out of code that would get patched by updates, and
having the code the same for all. So I would not worry too much, but
keep a note of which you got from that source and be prepared to
uninstall them if trouble arises (or go back to an earlier system
restore point if they don't provide for 'uninstall' or that Windows
Hotfix in add/remove programs )
