windows update is broken

when I run windows update and click on a category of
updates in the left pane, update runs again in the right
pane - any suggestions

Hi,
I finally found the problem. It has nothing to do with
anything wrong with your computer ir corrupted files,
etc. Turn off the Discussion Bar under Internet Explorer

View > Explorer Bar and it will stop this recursion.

I never turned this bar on, so some update from MSFT
must have turned it on but after clearing it, the
recursion stops and you are able to download the updates
from Windows Update, normally.
I am surprised someone did not mention this, earlier.
