I am trying to use Windows Update to load the Latest SP1
Security patches for Explored 6 on my Windows 2000
WS/Laptop. It just fails. Is there some log or something
I can look at to see what happened? I tried the event
viewer and there is nothing there. Also, there are two
device driver updates for my laptop and they fail too.
Other updates have worked including the RPC/DCOM patch
(Thank God!) Any ideas anyone? I have an HP Omnibook 6000
which has a brnd new 2000 Image on it. My user is in the
Administrator's group so security/access permissions
should not be an issue.

Hi Bill

At what point does the Update fail? During the scan? During Install? After
agreeing to the EULA?

Logs are here:

- C:\WINNT\Windows Update.log

and

- C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\V4\iuhist.xml

Thanks and Regards,

Fabio

After the prompt for the EULA, then it downloads, then it
immediately reports that it fails.

Yes, I am having the same problem as Bill when I also
tried to do the updates...I can't think of why it would
download the updates?..any ideas?
