Windows Update Error

HI,

I used to be able to update windows but recently I've
started getting this message.

"Thank you for your interest in Windows Update

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that
helps you get the most out of your computer.

You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system
in order to use Windows Update."

Any ideas?

Hi Brian,

Usually due to a firewall running in addition to the native one. Try
disabling both to see if it helps.

Hi Brian,

Wih NIS, there is often registry key you must delete first. It's described
in detail here near the bottom of the first section:
