Windows Update Downloads, But Will Not Install

I keep on getting this NVIDIA display software update that
was released on May 02, 2003. The download size was 11.8
MB & the download time was 39 minutes. When I go to have
this update installed, it will successfully download, but
refuse to install the downloaded file. Could someone
inform me as to what actions I need to take, to put a stop
to this continuous problem that won't go away? Your
assistance with this matter would be very much appreciated.

Disable your AV application, for starters.
