Windows update changes my settings

I just turned on my computer and the windows update downloaded all the
recommended and important updates. I HAD the settings for windows
update set that I could view and download the ones I wanted only.
Well, after it downloaded all the updates I had not specified, I lost
all of my husband's email and settings on his user site. Thank God
for system restore. After I restored I checked the windows update
again and yes, it had changed back to automatically installing
updates. Does anyone have this problem? Vista seems to have a mind
of it's own here and it is frustrating not to have my settings stay
put. Any advise? Thanx!

You're not the only one complaining about this.
I didn't have the problem thankfully.
And microsoft is not accepting responsibility for it!!!!
So, what's new, lol.
