Windows Update Auto Restart

On Win2000 SP4 pc's, we set windows update to auto-update and install.
Note:Users do not have admin rights on their pc's.

The computer then restarts without allowing the user to restart later.
This "problem" is easy to fix on XP, but I can't find a solution for win2000.

Please help.
