Can anyone help?
Running WINXP-Home, SP1 & ZoneAlarmPro (ZAP) 4.5.538.000
Windows Update fails with the following error number:
80072F76
i.e. type URL http://www.windowsupdate.com into ie6, it
does it's OS version check and therefore redirects to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
and provides Windows Update Error message with above
number, in one of the frames.
1)Disabling ZAP alleviates this problem. (This solution
is not desireable.)
2)Setting ZAP Privacy settings *in the "main" tab* to
Cookie Control = Off, and Ad Blocking = Off alleviates
this problem. (This solution is also not desireable).
3)Setting ZAP Privacy settings *in the "main" tab* to
Cookie Control = Medium, and Ad Blocking = Medium
(desireable settings) and *in the "Site List" tab* adding
in specific settings (allow all) for the following
domains the problem remains.
microsoft.com ; www.microsoft.com ; www.windowsupdate.com
Is there another domain I need to add, or do the site
list settings simply NOT over-ride the more restrictive
general settings???
AT WITS END ! Any help greatly appreciated.
