As many people have noted, this resolution does not fix the problem. It only
results in the "The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify that the source exists, and that you can access it." error.

I hope someone can post a solution that work, since Microsoft seems to not
have been able to find one yet.

One out of five machines I've installed WD has had the same problem you
describe. The KB915105 didn't work and resulted in the "installation
source" error. Clearing the cache (CCleaner) didn't help. Remove and
reinstall didn't help. But, when the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility was
used to remove the WD definition configuration, the updates now work. I
used the WD help, about, check for updates to reinstall the definitions and
future definition came in normally from Microsoft Update.

I should have noted that I had used the Windows Installer Cleanup as well,
and it did not solve the problem.

Is the 915105 KB not working in this instance?

I reached this stage with my machine on the last update. What I did next
was:

Start, control panel, add or remove programs, windows defender, click here
for support info, repair.

Followed that by an attempt to update within the program, which didn't seem
to do anything.

Went to Windows Update, and it updated just fine--just the
definitions--nothing else was offered or needed.

However--better to try with the new build up late yesterday:
