Windows Update 8007007E error

I get error 8007007E when Windows Update tries to check
my system.
Does anyone know what this means please?
I have tried everything in Windows Update Troubleshooter
and FAQ, and '8007007E' draws a blank in Microsoft KB and
discussion fora I have visited.

Fyi, microsoft.public.windowsupdate is a better newsgroup for
Windows Update questions.

Anyway, please try the following and see if it helps:

1)
Click Start >> Run >>
Type the follow command in the Open box.
"net.exe stop wuauserv" (w/o quotes)
Press Ok

Repeat the same for the following commands:

regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
regsvr32.exe wups.dll
regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
regsvr32.exe atl.dll
regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll
net.exe start wuauserv


Restart the machine and try WU site again.
